Books I read on my holidays

Flowers and Plants of Hawaii and Tropical Trees of Hawaii, two little books by Paul Wood and Ron Dahlquist - teaching myself botany now! and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society a book about the occupation of Guernsey during the second world war. And finally Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin, a book with rather better policy direction and fulfillment than war allows.

I love The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society and inally Three Cups of Tea for very different reasons.

There are many reasons for both books. Mostly though I spent these past two weeks doing _no_ writing and learning about tropical flowers! But writing calls me again. I am hoping to get a paper interested in some meditations on the psalms beginning with this morning's psalm 27 which could occupy dozens of columns. No hurry though - today I must watch the hockey game hoping Canada will beat the world record for the most golds won in a winter Olympics. Have to go to another symphony concert and sing Compline as well - whew.
